Students of Nehemia Gateway University Group B,

Ne mesimin tuaj te dites do te vini re se kini disa elemente gramatikore tashme te njohur prej jush.

1) Jam i sigurt se ju duhet ti njihni mire fjalite e meposhteme:

I have / You have / He has / She has / It has / We have / You have / They have

Ne gjuhen angleze ne e perdorim foljen have,
sa here deshirojme te flasim per pronesine, (possessions), dmth se
cfare gjerash kemi apo zoterojme; marredheniet  ( relationships ); dhe
semundjet ( illness ).

Fjalite pyetese i ndertojme me ndihmen e foljes do/does/ te shoqeruaar me nje folje ne formen fillestare te saj, te quajtur infinitive, (pa pjesezen to).

Psh: I have the keys.     Do I have the keys?     I do not have the keys. I don’t have the keys.

Bill has a car.                 Does Bill have a car? ( dhe jo: Does Bill has a car ); Bill does not have a car.  Bill doesn’t have a car.

2) Gjithashtu jam i sigurt se ju te gjithe duhet te kini pare fjali si me poshte:

I/You/We/You/They have got            He/She/It has got

 Have I/you/we/they got ?                   Has he/she/it got?

I/you/we/they have not got                 He/she/it has not got

Ne gjuhen angleze, shpesh perdoret pjeseza got prane foljes have, vecanerisht ne gjuhen  e folur ( in spoken English ), e sidomos ne kohen e tashme. Ky perdorim nuk ja ndryshon kuptimin foljes have te permendur si me siper. kur ne duam te flasim per marredhenie pronesie.

I have got. eshte e njejta gje me fjaline I have.

Have you got ? eshte e njejte ne kuptim me pyetjen: Do you have ?

Por beni kujdes se nuk mund te perdoresh foljen ndihmese do, kur perdor foljen have got apo kur nderton fjaline mohore.

She hasn’t got. eshte e barabarte me fjaline She doesn’t have.

Kur deshironi te ndertoni fjali pyetese me foljen have got, gjithmone vendosni foljen ndihmese have ose has perpara kryefjales dhe pas saj vendosni pjesezen got. psh:

I have got a cold.

Have you got a cold?

Has James got a fast car?

Format e kohes se shkuar nuk para gjenden ne kete perdorim( dmth nuk para perdoret forma I had got ). Po ashtu, nuk perdoret pjeseza got ne kohen e arthme.

 paf09.03.2013

Students of Nehemia Gateway University Group B,

The Past Simple (Simple Past) with Other Verbs

We make the past simple just like the present simple except we use
‘did’ instead of ‘do / does’. It’s really easy because ‘did’ doesn’t
change, even with ‘he / she / it’.

The positive:

We usually make the positive by adding ‘-ed’ to the infinitive. For example, ‘play’ becomes ‘played’. However, there are some irregular verbs, for example ‘go’ becomes ‘went’ and ‘run’ becomes ‘ran’.

(Here’s some help if you are not sure how to pronounce ‘-ed’ at the end of a verb).

Positive with Other Verbs
I walked (regular)
you played (regular)
he cooked (regular)
she listened (regular)
it rained (regular)
we ate (irregular)
they drank (irregular)

In the negative there aren’t any irregular verbs. All verbs use ‘did not (didn’t) + infinitive’:

Negative Negative Short Form
I did not walk I didn’t walk
you did not play you didn’t play
he did not cook he didn’t cook
she did not listen she didn’t listen
it did not rain it didn’t rain
we did not eat we didn’t eat
they did not drink they didn’t drink

Questions are also very easy. Just put ‘did’ before the subject, and the infinitive after it.
Here are the ‘yes / no’ questions:

‘Yes / No’ Questions
did I walk?
did you play?
did he cook?
did she listen?
did it rain?
did we eat?
did they drink?

To make a ‘wh’ question, of course, put the question word at the beginning of the sentence:

‘Wh’ Questions
where did I go?
what did you play?
what did he cook?
why did she listen?
when did it rain?
where did we eat?
how did they travel?

    GROUP 2

     Learning about English.

A sentence is a complete thought in words. The simplest kind of sentence is a statement, and for this we need  a subject ( something to talk about ) and something to say about it.

    For example:

Emil had lost all his money.
Here we are talking about Emil, and what we say about him is that he had lost all his money.
At the end, in writing, we put a full stop (.) and are then ready to start another sentence with a capital letter.

Please try to make up one statement sentence about each of the following:

    a)  New York
    b) a ship
    c) the sea
    d) the traffic
    e) a lorry
    f) my bicycle
    g) our school
    h) the garden
    i) our friend
    j) a teacher

Try to combine most of the words just in one sentence.

    Then
make up ten statement sentences about yourself. Try to make them
interesting, so that other people will know some important things about
you. You might begin something like this:

    My name is Bill Clover.
I have two brothers called John and James and a sister called Barbara.
    Fishing is my favourite hobby.
